Rabat Primary School C is a school which has students from 3 years to 11 year olds. Besides our school, St Nicholas College includes the primary schools at Attard, Bahrija, Dingli, Mtarfa and Mgarr, as well as a Middle School in Rabat and a Boys Secondary School in Dingli.

In our school there are approximately 382 students and 62 staff which include the Administration, teachers, Learning support educators, Kindergarten educators, peripatetic educators, support educators, clerks and ancillary staff.

Our scholastic year starts in September and ends in July where students attend school from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2.30pm.

Our school is located in the Central region, more precisely in the district of Leiria, and is headquartered at the Batalha Primary and Secondary School. At present, this grouping includes all kindergartens and all public schools of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd CEB and the secondary education of the county, including a Center Qualifies (CQ). It is a school with diversified curricula and a plurality of training offerings aimed at basic and secondary education, but also to respond to adult education, thus being a school institution open to the needs of the community.

A total of 1782 pupils attend, including pre-school, primary and secondary education, as well as the EFA (Adult Education and Training) course. The faculty of the group is formed by a total of 175 teachers. From the socioeconomic point of view, our group includes students from different strata, being a significant part coming from families with low resources. Our grouping has given priority to promoting equity and inclusion.

The school is attended by 1070 students of primary and infancy school, aged between three and eleven years old. There are many disabled students and foreigners of different ethnic backgrounds that represent the 30% of school population. The school staff consists of 80 teachers including teachers on common place and special needs teachers and 12 ATA staff with different and diversified experiences.

All team teachers have training on the use of the e-Twinning platform and use it with the pupils; they have followed courses on computational thinking both in presence and online on the EUROPEAN MOOCS platform and have obtained the relevant certification. They participated with the classes in the numerous activities proposed during the “Code week” (week of the Code) and experimented with the use of the programming language in unplugging mode and with dedicated software and platforms. The group has training experience on the CLIL methodology.

Osnovna šola Pivka is a medium-sized primary/lower secondary school of general education with 460 students from 6-15 years of age and 40 teachers. It has nine grades which are divided into three triads – grades 1, 2, 3 / grades 4, 5, 6 / grades 7, 8, 9. At the end of the first and second triad students must take a national proficiency exam in Maths, L1 and the first foreign language (English). In 9th grade students take their school-leaving exams, which include Maths, L1 and a third subject, chosen by the Ministry of Education. These exams play an important role in getting accepted into certain secondary schools.

Our key staff is composed by: Mirjam Francetič – is librarian and history teacher. She has been involved in international collaboration since 1999 including project coordinator of Comenius multilaterial projects. Alenka Tomšič – is the headteacher with a great experience in managing school and its staff. Meta Kirn – teacher of computer science is in charge of new ICT strategies and teaching approaches.
